In Baldur's Gate 3, a clever tactic involves summoning spiders as unexpected allies to aid your party during challenging encounters. While these arachnid companions are not a permanent addition, they can offer valuable assistance in fending off dangerous foes throughout your journey.

To initiate this strategy, you need the Spider Egg Sac, a hidden Miscellaneous item located at coordinates (X: 138, Y: 365) within the Harper Outpost in the Roadside Cliffs area. Characters in your party can ascend a ladder to this space and perform a Perception check to spot the landmark. A successful check will reveal a highlighted rock that, when interacted with, allows you to collect the Egg Sac in Baldur's Gate 3.

Once obtained, throwing or destroying the Spider Egg Sac on the ground summons five friendly crag spiders as companions until your next long rest. Keep in mind that this Consumable item has a one-time use and will be permanently destroyed after activation. In the midst of combat, you can throw the Sac as a bonus action, but it's advisable to release the spiders strategically.

To deploy the spiders without causing harm, place the Sac on the ground and shoot it with an arrow. Exercise caution by ensuring your party is in good health or by doing this immediately after a long rest in Baldur's Gate 3. It's essential to make the most of these temporary allies, as the spiders will leave your party permanently upon the next long rest. So, use this tactical advantage wisely to navigate challenging situations in the game.
